The invitations were dropped in the mail on Wednesday.  It was lovely to hear such positive feedback from so many as the invites arrived yesterday; and then today, I received 2 RSVPs !

This might be the first time many of you have visited our, or any, wedding website.  Between this site, and the wedding app, we have tried to put as much information into your hands as possible.  If  you have and questions or concerns, please do not hesitate in contacting me or Scott.

Scott and I look forward to June 14 with much excitement and anticipation.  We cannot wait to share the day with all of you.

The invitatons arrived and the stuffing of envelopes began. Since I had to work,  Scott came out to my office in Itasca. We cleared off the desk; got everything all organized and then we noticed the printer didn't ship enough of the reception cards.  The printer promises delivery by Tuesday so hopefully you will find our envelopes in the mail before the weekend.  I look forward to receiving all your RSVPs.  I cannot believe how fast the the time has passed and I cannot wait for the Big Day to arrive.  I have enjoyed planning a day and night for everyone to remember !

We are nearing just 70 days to the Wedding! Just 10 weeks from this Saturday and we will start our married life.

Colleen is amazing in that she's managed to stay on top of work AND work on this wedding, Today, we met with The Flower Firm, who will be responsible for the decorations at the reception and at the Mix and Mingle at the Vertigo.

The invitations are approved and will be out soon.

I am told I am in need of a few physical improvements --- sorry--- "freshening" so I will be getting some grooming upgrades.

Everything else is complete or near completion. Even the house is almost ready to accept a new male tenant.

I am working with my personal trainer so I can look reasonably human --- but who will be looking at me when I'm standing beside Colleen?

Unbelievable about the passing time: a year ago we'd not met in person. It will be about a year ago this week.

I will be updating this more often as we move forward and try to do so about twice per week.

Greetings all!

Well, all the paperwork is in we're ready to go for our wedding at the Cathedral.

This weekend, we're having our engagement photo shoot with our wedding photographer. We wanted snow and it appears we'll not be disappointed. Colleen and the photographer have great ideas and I am excited (for the first time) to get my photo taken.

We have the block of rooms reserved at the Dana Hotel and Spa. It's a great place that will be our wedding headquarters.

The link will be on our website, on the WeddingParty app (if you've not signed up, shame on you) and will be on the invitations to come.

We also met with some very creative people who will make the wedding, post wedding meet up and the reception beautiful and unique.

The music (DJ) is contracted. We are getting a list together of songs (NOT) to play. Sorry chicken dance fans.

The honeymoon is finalized (got my passport). My tux is purchased and the wedding gown (I am told) is ready. Finalizing menus

A few other details to be finalized but we're on track.

The hard part is ahead: getting wedding ready physically.

The time is passing and we're approaching 100 days until the date.

It's been an amazing year and wonderful time.

We're blessed.

Today many of you received the Save the Dates.

Over the past two months we created an intimate guest list, collected all the addresses and ordered the Save the Dates.  We planned on mailing them two weeks ago but work, life and computers got in the way.  This last weekend Scott and I vowed "in the mail by Monday!"  After a weekend long battle with the printer, Scott made a LARGE pitcher of tropical themed martinis and we began addressing the envelopes by hand.

We have planned a lovely celebration for June 14 and we hope you can join us.  Please download our wedding app to your smartphone.  It is similar to Facebook and is easy to use.  It is a nice way to share photos and memories exclusively among the wedding guests.  Also, it is a way to keep up-to-date on the events of the Big Day.

Just 135 days until THE day. Thus far, Colleen's tried on dresses, found dresses for the girls. We're set on the church: the divine Holy Name Cathedral. The Hotel Dana will be home base for our guests and Colleen a couple days before the wedding.

We have a DJ secured and we're building a song list --- and a NO play list as well :)

We've just two more Pre Cana sessions left. Beyond, I still have to secure a couple forms necessary to move forward with our Catholic union.

I still have to secure my first passport and today's the day to get my Illinois Driver's License.

And this weekend...Tux/groom suit trials.

The Save The Dates are scheduled to be released to the world this weekend and the invitations will soon follow. Honeymoon will be finalized this week or next.

A lot of things to be done for the wedding (and we're undergoing some personal maintenance :) ).

We're excited for every step.

Blessings

Colleen and Scott

This is my  first blog. There's no better first time blog than writing on our wedding. June 14, 2014. It's too far away and, for planning purposes, arriving far too fast. We've classes to take. Paperwork. One of us has to get his first-ever passport.

One thing's clear: I'm happy and so blessed to find Colleen. We're blessed to find each other. And we each other on God's time. It was worth the wait.

Through thousands of miles, years, too many tears...we made it into each other's world. From the first time I saw a photo of her, I knew. We took that chance.

I'd endure all of the past again, if I knew we'd come together on the other side.

Thank you for visiting.

Let's get this started, shall we?
